The story will jump five
years into the future with Melinda (Jennifer) and Jim (David Conrad) now
the parents of a 5-year-old son, Aidan (played by newcomer Connor
Gibbs).
The season premiere on September 25 will show what happened over the
past five years-including an abnormal delivery scene with "intense ghost
activity," Love says. Much like Bewitched characters Samantha and
Darrin's curiosity over their little Tabitha, Melinda and Jim will
likewise question Aidan's special abilities. "We haven't fully
discovered what he's going to be able to do," she hints. "He doesn't
have her gift-he sort of has his own gift.
People should pay attention to him, because he is a very special kid in
every shape and form."
The similarities to Bewitched don't stop there. Love is looking for an
actress to play Aidan's unusual nanny. "Think
Endora," she says. Her first choice: Shirley
MacLaine, who played
Endora in the 2005 Nicole Kidman big-screen
remake. "I'm certainly going to try to get her." That might require some
real magic! Shirley's agent, Tom Burke, says the 75-year-old
reincarnation expert has seen the show and is awaiting a script: "It's
definitely possible." |
