Actress Jennifer Love Hewitt is set to find out if a Scotsman really wears anything under his kilt.

The Ghost Whisperer star and her fiance, Scottish actor Ross McCall, stepped out together for a swanky fundraiser in Hollywood to honour St Jude's hospital for children.

Ahead of his pending nuptials, Ross confessed that he hadn't yet taken Jen back to Britain to properly introduce her to his roots: "Not yet, I've got a few sights to show her."

But it looks like the actress could be in for a true taste of Scotland's winter delights this year. He said: "I think we'll go back at Christmas and see the folks, so I'll take her to the Highlands.

"You know, make her sleep out in the mountains with my kilt!"

As for the details of just when the big day will be, Ross is keeping tight-lipped. Confessing only that the date had been set, he said: "We have, but I'm not telling you when..."
