TEEN DREAM TO OSCAR BAIT
In 2000,
former Beverly Hills 90210 cast member Hilary Swank won a
best-actress Oscar for Boys Don't Cry. She won again in 2005 for
Million Dollar Baby. In 2006, former Dawson's Creek bad-girl
Michelle Williams received a supporting-actress nomination for
Brokeback Mountain. She lost to Rachel Weisz of The Constant
Gardener.
And while we're on the subject, let us not forget that former 21
Jump Street leading man Johnny Depp has received three Oscar
nominations, and former Fresh Prince of Bel Air star Will Smith
has been nominated twice.
