Love and Kip are "groovy" together.....

Jennifer Love Hewitt and Kip Pardue are teaming up to star in the indie feature for director Sydney Macartney.

The project is first movie for Hewitt, Pardue and Macartney, and is scheduled to begin production this month in Ireland.

"Pale" stars Pardue as a hippie named Jim who invites a young Irish boy to accompany him and his girlfriend (Hewitt) on a road trip.

Casting of the role of the Irish boy is set to be announced soon.

Don't know if the PROCOL HARUM classic will be in the movie...........

Hewitt, who has just signed with Endeavor for representation, most recently starred in DreamWorks Pictures' action comedy "The Tuxedo" opposite Jackie Chan. She has completed production on 20th Century Fox's live-action/CGI "Garfield", the indie drama "If Only" for Love Spell Entertainment and InterNationalMedia Films, and Fathom Studios' "DELGO". Last year, Hewitt released her fourth album, "BareNaked," for Jive Records/Zomba Recording Corporation - a Bertelsmann Music Company.

Pardue first received recognition for his role in the Walt Disney Co.'s "Remember the Titans" opposite Denzel Washington. He most recently starred in Roger Avary's "The Rules of Attraction" for Lions Gate Films and "DRIVEN" starring Sylvester Stallone and Burt Reynolds (co-starring with Jennifer Love Hewitt in the animation "DELGO" from Atlanta's FATHOM STUDIOS and PARAMOUNT PICTURES - a Viacom Company). Pardue next stars in Catherine Hardwicke's Sundance Film Festival standout "Thirteen" for Fox Searchlight Pictures opposite Evan Rachel Wood and Nikki Reed.

UPDATE: AUGUST 1, 2003

"Whiter Shade of Pale" has ceased production temporarily.   

The movie was supposed to film in Ireland in the next few months.  The crew who were supposed to have been hired for the project have been advised this week that the production has collapsed and will not proceed.   No reason is known why the movie will no longer proceed.  Best guess right now would be financing problems.

UPDATE: AUGUST 7, 2003

"Whiter Shade of Pale" is back on and production to begin ASAP. They have a backer (or two) and Love and Kip are going on with production.

It's reported that the stars and the director will give up their salaries for percentages of the film. So the movie is back in production in late August/early September.

WHITER SHADE OF PALE is DEAD.

The story goes: the financiers made several new demands to promote the movie that dealt with Jennifer Love Hewitt. We'll spell it out, 'NUDITY'.

The financiers wanted Love to appear topless; still pictures of the topless scenes (one scene where the little 11 year-old---uncasted---finds her bathing naked); use the film footage and stills for promotion on websites, and for publicity to sell the movie including to a major men's magazine.

Jennifer Love Hewitt simply said 'nope' and production for Jennifer Love Hewitt to star in the movie is KAPUT FOR GOOD.

Love made the right decision.
