Now what would Party of Five's
Bailey think if he saw his sweet, virtuous ex, Sarah
Reeves, slinking around in a French maid's costume for
the benefit of sleazy old Gene Hackman? Apparently,
Jennifer Love Hewitt is relishing the departure from her
teary, vulnerable persona for her new movie,
Heartbreakers. Hewitt and Sigourney Weaver play a
mother-daughter love-'em-and-leave-'em team. The mother
marries rich men, the daughter seduces them into
adultery, and then the two of them live off the
hard-earned divorce settlements. Now why haven't we
thought of this scheme before? Hewitt's performance in I Know What You Did Last Summer (and its sequel) certainly was cleavage-enhanced, but now she replaces her signature innocent/hurt gaze with, well, an attempt at a sizzling glare. In a video interview on MGM's official site for this goofy flick, she admits she had to be trained to walk and talk like a seductress. It seems like she's put these lessons to work in her real life, as gossip columnists are whispering about some off-camera chemistry between her and newly single Alec Baldwin on the set of The Devil and Daniel Webster (due out later this year). In that movie, she'll take one more step away from angelic. But none of it was true. |
