Ghost Whisperer's Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jamie Kennedy star in drama..... |

by Jay A. Fernandez with Jim Mix Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jamie Kennedy are starring in "Cafe," an indie drama from writer-director Marc Erlbaum ("Head Space" and "Buddy Gilbert Comes Alive"). Alexa Vega ("Spy Kids" franchise and who was in a GHOST WHISPERER episode this season "Endless Love"), Madeline Carroll ("The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause"), Daniel Eric Gold ("Charlie Wilson's War", "War of The Worlds (2005), and "Ugly Betty"), Jennifer Merrill ("The Guiding Light", "Ryan's Hope" and "Confessions of a Shopaholic") and Hubble Palmer ("Pride and Prejudice") also appear as part of an ensemble of Philadelphia residents who frequent the local West Philly Grounds coffee shop where Hewitt's character Claire works. Sean Covel and Chris "Doc" Wyatt ("Napoleon Dynamite") and J. Andrew Greenblatt ("Explicit Ills") are producing. The film, which began shooting May 11, 2009 in Philadelphia, is the first production from Erlbaum's Nationlight Productions shingle. Scheduled for a release in 2010 and hoping for a presentation at the next upcoming Sundance Film Festival. Hewitt, repped by Endeavor and Untitled Entertainment, stars and produces the CBS hit series "Ghost Whisperer" which just renewed for the fifth season. She most recently appeared onscreen in the "Garfield: The Movie" feature and its sequel. Kennedy, repped by Paradigm and 3 Arts Entertainment, also appears on "Ghost Whisperer" and most recently starred in "Extreme Movie" and "Kickin' It Old Skool." |
