LOVE MATCH

Release Date: February 23, 2007

Press Release: The Greenock Telegraph - United Kingdom

ACTING UP: Ross McCall has gone from Port Glasgow to Hollywood and says he is ‘living the dream’......

Not only is Port Glasgow’s Ross McCall dating a world-famous actress (Jennifer Love Hewitt), but his own acting career is set to catapult him on to Hollywood’s A-list. His new movie, Trade Routes, is set for release later this year.

But the former St Michael’s Primary pupil says despite working with megastars such as Tom Hanks, David Schwimmer and Steven Spielberg, he’ll never forget his Inverclyde roots.

And there’s one piece of Scottish life Ross says he takes with him everywhere — the avid Celtic fan regularly gets up at 4am and drives 40 miles with his A-list girlfriend to a pub showing live SPL action!

Ross and Jennifer are both busy working on films and television shows.

Ross told the Tele: “We are living the dream. I spent three years travelling back and forth between the UK and Hollywood, but then I met a girl and fell in love and she really put me on my back heel.

“I am just about to start promoting my new film. It is a political thriller about election fixing.

“I play an American called Tim Knight who is a consultant who goes to eastern Europe and interferes with elections. It is loosely based on a true story.”

Ross has been living in Tinseltown for two years and has so far appeared in the hit Second World War drama series Band of Brothers, as well as episodes of CSI New York and the UK movie Green Street, which also starred Lord of the Rings actor Elijah Wood.

His parents, Maggie and John McCall, are retired and recently moved into a house in Greenock’s Esplanade. He says he can’t wait to visit them and see the view from their house with his own eyes.

Ross said: “All my dad talks about is the view from the house. He even took pictures from the window and sent them to me. It looks great and I am sure it won’t be too long before I am over to see it for myself.”

Ross’s dad John was a firefighter based at Greenock fire station and Ross says he clearly remembers his dad coming back to their Moorfield Avenue home smelling of smoke.
