By Howard Richman Kansas City may not know what Jennifer Love Hewitt did last summer, but she'll be easy to track down Monday. Hewitt was at Smiley's Golf Complex in Lenexa. Hewitt, the 23-year-old co-star of the 1997 scream flick "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and the TV show "Party of Five" was at Smiley's as part of a promotion for teen-oriented station KCHZ-FM's annual golf tournament for charity. Hewitt made her appearance around 9:30 am CT, said KCHZ (95.7) promotions director Eric Tadda. |
|
| The station attempted to land Kansas
basketball players, Kansas State football players or Tom
Watson for the event but were unsuccessful. Hewitt wasn't
a bad draw. "She's got a new song out, and she might even perform it," Tadda said. "We hope her being there will also bring out some people who will want to donate to our charity even if they don't play golf." The 8 a.m. shotgun start, featured more than 100 youths, will benefit the Junior Golf Foundation of Greater Kansas City. In its first charity event last year, KCHZ raised more than $2,000 for the Dream Factory. "We want to do something for the kids in our town," Tadda said. Story: © 2002
