YORK, NY -- CMJ FilmFest '99 presented by the Independent
Film Channel is proud to offer a special screening of The
Suburbans, the new film directed by and starring Donal
Lardner Ward. The film's co-writer Tony Guma, Jennifer
Love Hewitt (Party of Five, I Know What You Did Last

Friends And Neighbors) and SNL's Will Ferrell also star
in this tale of the reunited Suburbans, a one-hit wonder
band from the halcyon early days of new wave. The Suburbans CMJ FilmFest '99's stellar lineup of the year's most exciting independent and commercial films, including Sugar Town, Happy Texas, The Minus Man, Southie and Afraid of Everything, as well as the Beatles animated classic Yellow Submarine. Over the years, CMJ FilmFest has showcased such breakout films as Pulp Fiction, American History X and Boogie Nights, to name a few. "The Suburbans is the perfect film to open CMJ Film Fest '99. It's an irreverent look at rock n' roll, one that reminds us not to take everything so seriously," says Festival Director Donita Dooley. The Suburbans will be screened at 6:00pm at the Cineplex Odeon Worldwide at 340 W 50th St, and will be followed by a Q&A with Donal Lardner Ward. Story: © 1999 PR
