Texas-born former Party of Five-er Jennifer Love Hewitt is in Victoria this month starring in Confessions of a Sociopathic Social Climber, a two-hour original comedy for the Oxygen network. Israel-born producer/director Dana Lustig, who brought her Kill Me Later, starring Selma Blair, here in 2000, is helming. In the movie, based on Adele Langs bestselling book of the same name, Hewitt plays Katya Livingston, a young, ruthless, San Francisco ad sales exec wholl stop at nothing to get to the top of the citys social ladder. When tax inspectors question her claims, Katya begins keeping a financial diary and just for fun includes secrets about her friends, enemies and lovers all from her unique point of view. Shes a character whos sort of out of the school of Ab Fab, says Oxygens programming president Debby Beece. Shes self-centred, rebellious and should really know better. But in the end youre rooting for her to get better. The movie, also starring Vancouvers David Richmond-Peck, will premiere in early 2005. |
