Helping Love tries to help and gets ripped off.....

Jennifer Love Hewitt played a grifter in Heartbreakers, but in real life she's the one who got ripped off.

When walking out of a Malibu market, she saw a punky teen girl crying outside. Jen asked what was wrong, and the girl told her she was a runaway and begged for bus fare to get back home.

Soft-touch Jennifer immediately gave the girl all the money in her wallet – $80 – for food and transportation.

But as she was leaving, Jennifer realized she forgot something and pulled her car in front of the market to run back in, and overheard the girl laughing and telling her pals how she'd conned money out of JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT.

Don't expect to see Jennifer digging into her pockets again anytime soon.
