"Do not learn how to read music, do not bore yourself with learning how to be a technician. Learn things that make you feel good inside and learn to hear the language of music with your ears."

-DON McLEAN

He's a man who taught his sister many things including the music he loved like Janis Joplin and Don McLean---as a matter of fact, he was very protective of his Don McLean album, "AMERICAN PIE". If Love touched his album, he'd 'whoop' her. But he loves her.

Love's brother, Todd Daniel Hewitt (born November in 1971, and is a chiropractor) suggested based on a girl he knew, to add the name "Jennifer" to her sister's name.

The reason was that anyone with the first name, "Love", ....well....you figure it out. But according to Jennifer Love Hewitt herself, "Love Hewitt" would have sounded like a name for an adult/porno actress. But it's a lot of guts to have "Love" for a first name. Anyway, Love is always first.

So thus the name
Jennifer Love Hewitt™ ®
was created by the Brother and what it says on her driver's license.

"My brother loves to call me 'Hotrod!' He's been a father figure when I was little and always been my hero."

-JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT

Love always had a goal to accomplish her dreams of being a singer and actress. While attending a regular junior high school, instead of respecting Love to go for her achievement, the kids at her junior high school would say things like, 'Oh, there's Freak Actor Girl!' But it didn't bother Love. She had dreams to come true and she was ready for those dreams.

Love's acting career began in 1992 with the first of two movies for legenadry movie maker icon, ROGER CORMAN and director JIM WYNORSKI. Her first appearance was in:

"MUNCHIE"

starring future FRANCHISE PICTURES co-founder and co-producer: ANDREW STEVENS and LONI ANDERSON of "WKRP IN CINCINNATI".

Love returned to television in December 1992 (until May 1993) as the daughter, Bernadette Moody, in her first Fox series and sitcom, about the Moodys called:

"SHAKY GROUND"

produced by the Keyes Brothers and starring improvisational actor MATT FREWER of "MAX HEADROOM" and veteran actress ROBIN RIKER.

Also 1993, Love co-starred and was one of the singers in her first major motion picture for Walt Disney's Touchstone Pictures, starring WHOOPI GOLDBERG and directed by actor/director/writer: BILL DUKE:

"SISTER ACT 2: BACK IN THE HABIT"

Goldberg returns as Deloris Van Cartier/Sister Mary Clarence, to bring together a bunch of street kids (Jennifer Love Hewitt being one of them) and pulls them together into a choir while a rich guy/bad guy (played by future 1998 Oscar winner: JAMES COBURN) wants to close down the convent's school. It's also the same production where Jill Gilbert and Love would meet and five years later formed Love Spell Entertainment.

Love sang on the motion picure soundtrack album. Also singer-actress Lauryn Hill appeared in this film before she went on to a successful recording career and win five Grammies in 1999.

That same year, Love, Jim Wynorski and Roger Corman re-teamed one more time for:

"HOME FOR CHRISTMAS"

A story about a rich little girl running away from her mean step-parents to find her real mother played by "ALIEN NATION" actress TERRI TREAS.

The movie starred Howard Hessman of "WKRP IN CINCINNATI" and Steve Landesberg of "BARNEY MILLER".

Love's real, real mother, Pat Hewitt made a cameo as Landesberg's secretary Consuela and brother Todd Hewitt appears as Bubba (Diner Counter Man). The orignal title of that movie was "LITTLE MISS MILLIONS".

In 1994 Love moved back to TV on the ABC Television Network, co-starring in a Steven Bochco production created by future "DARK ANGEL" creator, CHARLES H. EGLEE, titled:

"THE BYRDS OF PARADISE"

.....starring TIMOTHY BUSFIELD of "THIRTYSOMETHING", RYAN DONOHUE (voice over actor for "TOY STORY", "A BUG'S LIFE" to name many) and future "Can't Hardly Wait" star: SETH GREEN.

Sam Byrd, a teacher (Busfield) and his family take up residence in Hawaii after his wife dies. Harry (Green), Zeke (Donohue) and Franny (Love) each have their own problems accepting the new arrangement and coming to terms with the loss of their mother.

Co-starring former Miss Hawaii, ELIZABETH LINDSEY, Emmy Award winner BRUCE WEITZ of "HILL STREET BLUES" and legendary singer/songwriter, Grammy winner and Woody's son ARLO GUTHRIE.

But once again another TV cancellation.

Still Love pressed on, on television as she returned the following year on the ABC Television adventure series:

"McKENNA"

.....starring Chad "MEDICAL CENTER" Everett.

Love played Cassidy McKenna in the second episode of the first season, replacing Vinessa Shaw who originated the role in the pilot. But Love's TV career was battling the low television ratings in which she kept tracked of, every week, and faced the cancellation of another TV series.

As a matter of fact, Love stated in the E! Entertainment Television program, "Celebrity Profile" (December 2, 1998 broadcast) that she was considered the "Queen of The Canceled TV Series". Is she kidding us?

But despite those TV cancellations, one major dream finally came true, again, in Love's first love. A recording contract!!!! IN AMERICA!!!!

Continuing her recording career, her first in America, Love signed with Warner Bros.' Atlantic Records in 1995. Her first CD on the American label was titled:

"LET'S GO BANG"
(God love her for that title)

"It was suppose to be this dance called The Bang, and the song never hit so we never came up with the dance. Everybody just thought I was a really dirty 16 year-old."

-JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT

Despite the dance phase, Love did not know what the phrase, "Let's Go Bang", meant when the song was offered to her. Now she knows, after the CD was released.

Continuing in her songwriting career, Love co-wrote a song with the CD's producer, Angelo Montrone, titled:

"FREE TO BE A WOMAN"
Click the title for the lyrics and snip it of the song

One of her best compositions and recordings.

"I like being a role model to young girls.  I try really hard in interviews not to put on a fake front.  I try really hard to make sure I'm somebody they can look up to."

-JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT

By the way, did you know that a 13 year-old Jennifer Love Hewitt and (as Love calls him) "a handsome, handsome, handsome" Pierce Brosnan (Yeah, him!) were to star in a pilot as father and daughter titled:

"RUNNING WILDE"

For NBC Television in 1993 (Mid season or fall? Don't know), the pilot never got the pick-up. But here's a pic of TV father and daughter many years later.
