"If you get tired of being in the business or you're not having fun anymore, we can still pack our bags for Texas and go back."

-MRS. PAT HEWITT
to her daughter

The most significant life choice I’ve ever made, probably was saying to my mom, “Let's go to California for a month” when I was 10. And it was the start, hopefully, of a career, but it was before any career was possible. That decision process was probably the beginning, obviously the biggest thing.

-JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT

After all of the ventures of entertainment across the Atlantic, Love Hewitt knew she had the chance to make that ambition come true in Los Angeles, California---HOLLYWOOD! She told her mother to quit her job of making army tags for the GIs, pack the bags, get into a clunker of a car with an engine sound I cannot put into words, and head off to bright lights, sunglasses and autographs.

It was a friend and cast member of the classic Screen Gems' TV show, "FATHER KNOWS BEST" actress LAUREN CHAPIN (Kitten) who sent a photo of Love Hewitt in Russia to a Los Angeles agent. The Hewitt ladies were going to give it a try on the 'Avenue of the Stars' for one month.

Pat Hewitt is not a stage mom. No pushing, no demanding, no ordering. Pat knew her daughter had more talent to make it in the entertainment business.

"My mother is always my inspiration. I have her strength and her sense of humor."

-JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT

Arriving in Los Angeles, California, Love and Mother Pat celebrated Love's 10th birthday with a candle lit piece of cheesecake as her birthday cake in a restaurant of a Holiday Inn in Hollywood.

Love's birthday gift was an invitation to the 1989 Grammy Awards.

As they set down in Los Angeles, The Hewitts were looking for the recording contract for Love's first love, singing. But the recording industry saw nothing in Love Hewitt. Love was then advised to considered acting while waiting for that recording contract.

"In the elevator, Love met Pearl Bailey, who sang "Hello, Dolly!" for her [Love] to prove she was more than the lady from a chocolate chip commercial."

-DAVID WILD
told by Jennifer Love Hewitt
Rolling Stone Magazine December 1998

"What the world really needs is more love and less paperwork!"

-PEARL BAILEY (1918-1990)
Singer-Actress and Goodwill
Ambassador to the United Nations

After hiring an agent, Love began appearing in commercials for Circuit City electronic stores, Ross Department Stores, Chex Cereal, Mrs. Smith's Pies, and 20 national spots for Mattel Toys (including Barbie), and Victoria Golf with Japanese Baseball Great: SADAHARU OH.

She went back on the tour circuit, touring the world (again) for the sports clothing company, L.A. Gear.

Through a promotion of L.A. Gear, Love's first love finally made a disc. In 1990, Love recorded a remake of the Blondie classic hit, "HEART OF GLASS" for the Global Satelite Network and BMG Music.

Oh and the one line in Deborah Harry/Chris Stein composition that goes,

"soon turn out to be a pain in the ass"

.....was replaced. Singer's prerogative.

A cattle call over 1,000 kids for the audition of a kids TV show, reduced down to 20, then to 5, and then to 2 until Love Hewitt (one of the 2) lost the part. But then actress---who won the part---was stricken with a mysterious illness. Hewitt got the call and the part.

In 1989, Love landed her first television series as Robin on the Disney Channel/MGM kids TV program:

"KIDS INCORPORATED"

At first, she did not past the audition for Kids Inc. But then the producers took a second look at Love Hewitt's audition and saw an enthusiastic young woman. The Kids Inc. producers reconsidered Love for the TV show. One of the actors who appeared in the kids rated TV program would later go on to portray her love interest. His name: SCOTT WOLF.

And the best thing about appearing on Kids Inc.? Singing! On a 1991 episode of Kids Inc., Love sang a song about saving the environment called "PLEASE SAVE US THIS WORLD". This song became the theme song Love sang, with other young celebrities, at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - South America.

In 1990, Love Hewitt still wasn't a household name, but as a cast member of "KIDS INC" Love received the 1990

YOUTH IN FILM AWARD

In 1991, Love did commercials for Victoria Golf with Japanese Baseball Great, Sadaharu Oh and Love appeared in the famous workout video:

"DANCE! WORKOUT WITH BARBIE!"

This video is so famous, today, you cannot have a Hewitt Christmas without the showing of this top selling video that went platnum for selling over one million copies.

On March 21, 1992, Love's first love was put onto her first full album. Released in Japan on the Meldac record label:

"LOVE SONGS"

(which became the name of her own enterprise company) signaled the official career of Love's first love.

Singles from the album were released through BMG Records in Britain, Germany and Austria. From this album, the first single released was a remake of the ABBA classic: "Dancing Queen". "Please Save Us This World" was added to this CD. Also Debbie (now "Deborah") Gibson sang backup vocals and co-wrote: "Bedtime Stories." And Love began her songwriting career by writing and co-writing a songs for her first CD album. Only one song made the final cut, titled:

"90's KIDS"
Click the title for the lyrics and snip it of the song

Love Songs Inc. has retained the rights to the "Love Songs" masters and has re-released the album for the North America territories meaning no more import prices to pay.

With some of her selections released on BMG, Jennifer Love Hewitt returned to the BMG family in 2002 under Zomba's Jive Record label to release her worldwide fourth coming CD.
